How my passion started

As some of you, I grew up in the 70's. The 70's were very special... So many things happened around the world.  Arcade consoles that would eventually grow so much creating a vast gaming industry we see in our days. New music styles, president resignations... Oh wow... So much happened and so much ever since. The 70's were glorious days for the car world too.
So many classics became classics because of the 60'2 and 70's. We All remember the Corvette Stingrays from back then. Beautiful curvy lines, a breathtaking design that even today makes men turn their heads as though they were seeing for the first time the girl of their dreams. The Mustangs were too remarkable. Powerful engines, robust looks... Just like the SS's too. When one would gas it down the sound of these classics would shake the earth. I can feel even today the impressive roar of those cars reverberating deep within my memory causing chills through my spine and a profound feeling of nostalgia. I knew back then that I would always love cars. My dad was a mechanic and although I respect the profession, I chose a different career path. I am an Electrical Engineer but I share the same passion for cars that my dad did in 1970, 5 years after my birth. I know I was influenced by him and I am glad I was. I carry him with me when I drive the Mustang in the picture. No, he is not ashes and he is alive! (Just wanted to make that clear). We live far from each other but whenever I drive that car on weekends I remember him fixing cars in his little shop a long time ago. 
Here are a few things he always shared with me:
- Never race on the streets but if you do, make sure you win
- A good driver knows his car better than he knows his house
- (here is my favorite) - Blue Mustangs are the best!
I was a kid and now I am the old man.
Well, fun facts, that Mustang has never been my dads but when I went off to college he bought that car for me. Well, I was not as spoiled as this sounded. The car was in really bad shape. It had been in a couple wrecks, it was missing the back seat, the windshield was broken and it was yellow. Yes, yellow. I was able to keep the car although thought of selling it a few times but I think people would charge me to take the car with them so I thought that would not be a great idea. Believe me or not, that was the most valuable thing I had along with a vinyl from The Beatles. I managed to keep the car running until I graduated. It was just too much for the poor thing. It died 3 months after my graduation. I was lucky it lasted so long. I parked the car in my parents backyard for a couple of years until my dad and I started working on it. It took us a decade to make the car pretty again and just recently we turned it into what you see in the picture.
For these reasons and many others, I love cars and especially this Mustang.

Oh, I need to make mention of my son who helped us a lot. He owns an auto-repair in Herriman and South Jordan, Utah.
If you ever stop by Utah and need help with your car, this guy will actually go to you and fix the problem.
Just wanted to talk about how easy it is these days to do oil changes. My daughter needed an oil change and she downloaded an app in which you can schedule an oil change, pay for the service and the mechanic will come to your house to do it. I was skeptical until I saw it happening. The app is called Car Swaddle and they do mobile oil changes in at a very reasonable price. They are based off of Lehi, UT but work all over the state if not the country by now.
